Barack Obama has his inauguration yesterday and once again, it still takes my breath away and makes me feel so proud that it is a sight I live to see again and that is a member of my community, my race, my skin colour is the President of the United States of America. Not only am I proud because he is black, but because he has amazing poise, he has an amazing grace, and he stands for something so much greater than himself that it is almost unbelievable!
He said some touching words on at the inauguration and he inspired hope and promise to the many hundreds of thousands who watched in Washington, let alone the millions around the world who were equally inspired.
I hope that he continues to have the strength, passion and determination which I know he has, to continue and do the best job that he can do in times that are one of the toughest the world has ever faced.
I must also say that I am really feeling this Michelle-Obamafied Fringe! Her fringe is so cute and even on a mature sophisticated woman that she is, looks so elegant and just rounds off her look. Whoever suggested the ‘banging’ bangs, then Nubian Sisters definitely salutes you. Once again, I have to say that Michelle Obama is such a strong and inspiring woman and I’m honoured also to see such a strong intelligent woman as the first First Lady of African origin! Sasha and Malia were also well turned out!
Beyonce’s rendition of the Star Spangled Banner was also very touching, and once again, she never fails to disappoint with her vocals. I must say, she looked good with simple make-up. She didnt look too overdone and she did her job well. Only a few get the honour to do what she did that day- well done to the Queen of Pop/Rnb.
